Short & Sweet Introduction from Chessable & chess.com/courses on Vimeo

A thorough starter course to rip apart Sicilian players' dreams

All 1.e4 players must reckon with the Sicilian Defense and the tactical ambitions of its devotees. What if there were a sound and positional setup that squashed Black's hopes of a tactical melee?

That's exactly what The Maroczy Bind is. A pawn structure that will leave Black's pieces with nowhere to go, allowing you to unleash your very own tactical punishment on your opponent. Black's activity will be shut down cold.

The best part of all is that it can be played against every variation of the Sicilian.

Short & Sweet: Stomp the Sicilian gives you 15 crucial lines to get you up and running with the Maroczy Bind.

The most important of these lines is the Prins Variation, an uncommon, yet solid line that protects the e-pawn and prepares the c-pawn push after Black's most common and flexible response, 2…d6, met with 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.f3!?.

Other major lines sampled in this mini-repertoire include:

♟ Anti-Prins move orders
♟ Accelerated Dragon
♟ Sveshnikov Sicilian
♟ Classical Sicilian
♟ Four Knights Sicilian
♟ Kalashnikov Sicilian
♟ The Kramnik Sicilian

...but you will also find guidance on some of the sideline Sicilians like the O'Kelly Variation, the Grivas Sicilian, the Nimzo Sicilian, and the Löwenthal Sicilian.

Start giving out headaches to 1…c5 players today with Short & Sweet: Stomp the Sicilian.
